Lullaby

The most important symbol in this text in my opinion was the blanket. In the beginning it talks about how the blanket was passed down from her mother and the process that was used to make it. She mentions how she remembers the yarn, the spindle and the berries used to make it. Then she flashes back to the memory of being wrapped in her mother’s blanket and reminisced how it kept her warm on cold nights. Situations with the blanket continue to spread in this story. In the end the blanket shows up again in which she wraps chako in it as he passes away. I feel that when a object or symbol is repeated in a story its something that has a big meaning. Overall, I feel that blanket was the most important because it appeared throughout the whole story.
